Caelainn Kerrigan for Vice President for the Dublin Region

Hi everyone! My name is Caelainn Kerrigan. I’m 23, and a recent graduate of Fine Art from NCAD. I am so excited to be running to be your next Vice President for the Dublin Region!

I’ve been involved in the student movement for five years now! I was a class representative in both my first and second year, and then I was elected PTO for Students with Disabilities during my final year. In 2019, I was elected Vice President of NCADSU, and this year I’ve had the honour of working as NCADSU President. I’ve been so lucky to spend the last two years doing what I love the most: supporting students and a team of officers!

I’ve spent the last two years working in a small Union with just two full-time officers and no support staff, so I know how vital the help of the VP Dublin can be. I want to work with M.Os to alleviate any pressure wherever I can, provide practical advice for officers and allow officers a space to debrief. I know that each officer works differently, so I firmly believe that each officer needs to be supported differently! I want to work with officers to ensure that the support and communication that I am providing to them is of benefit to them, and take an individual approach to supporting officers across the region.

I truly believe that my experience, my passion, and my drive makes me the perfect candidate for this role! If elected, I promise to work hard to ensure that officers across the Dublin Region are supported during their time in Office, and that they can represent their students as best as they can! I have the necessary knowledge, and I believe that my years representing students on areas such as accessibility, disability, academic affairs, and appeals will allow me to be able to support all officers across the region. I have always been a caring person, who wants to help others in any way that I can.

I will be a friendly face for all officers to call for a shoulder to cry on, for a chat, for advice or support, and I want officers to know that they can call me for anything! No problem is too big or too small. I will be the officer that does the work that you can see and feel without having to go looking for it. I will be a support for you, your students, and for the Dublin Region.

I look forward to seeing you all over the next few weeks, and I can’t wait to see all of you at congress! If you have any questions, any comments, or you just want a chit chat, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with me! I’d be more than happy to have a chat or a call with anyone.

Le grá,
